Wednesday the 20th of July
For our first lesson back to normal VET classes both me the producer, and my partner Rachel the director of "Mismatch" held auditions for the minor role of Jane. Jane is a refined sophisticated character that gets into conflict with the narrarator of the film. We narrowed our applications down to 2 woman that would best suit the role, and that we felt had the right look for this particular film. Both woman gave strong performances and it was a tough decision to select one of the two, however in the end we both decided on Alanah who we felt naturally fit the role.
I learnt how to be proffesional and work with people who i had never previously meet. although I was nervouse at first I soon felt at ease with my role as the producer. Some problems that had arisen was with the setting up of the camera and I and the director struggled at first to set it up properly, but with the help of others we soon got the grip of it and are determined to work more with the camera so we will neext time be able to set up the entire camera ourselves. The director and I started looking for the perfect outfit for our main character the narrarator through the costume department here at Sandringham and we were luckiy enough to find something ideal for the narrarator that fits his quirky yet strange character.
This lesson I also worked on the production schedule and organized the majority of our filming days with specific times and locations, and finalized these dates with my director. If all goes to plan we only have three more scences to shoot before our due date. We have aimed to complete shooting by the end of August and begin on the editing asap.
