Screenings of previously created films

As a class we were shown, films that the previous students had created we wrote down notes on what had not been done properly and what we needed to do to achieve a pass. We also discussed our views on the different films and which ones we liked best and the ones we liked least we also gave reasons for our choices and shared them with the class.

Media VET

This week in VET we were given time to finish our trailors and a lady came to view them. i managed to finish on time and add all the effects needed for each logo. The only problem was that i had put some in a different order.

Vet Acting

Today we go to work with the vet acting students we had to film our allocated clips with our groups I was a boom holder for the majority of the time, which was quite painful to endure. I now realize how much strength a person needs to have to hold something like that up for hours.

This week we also got to work with the vet acting students again I took on the position of director and chose which shots would be used. I also got to make sure the sound was accurate and all dialogue could be heard. Another role that I was assigned to was floor manager it was my job to count down, I made a few mistakes but eventually got it. I learnt that I need to speak up if I want to be heard as I have a quite voice.

Bond University

This week in VET we had steve from bond university come and speak to the class about the the university and a scholarship that we could try out for. The class was shown previous films that his students had made and we were shown lighting techniques. After the break we were separated into groups and assigned different types of lighting i was given the scenario of someone sitting in front of a fire. As a group we were told to create lighting that resembled a fire. We had red paper that needed to be put in front of a light, we were also shown how which types of light are most useful to create certain atmospheres.

Trailors and Ripping a DVD

I have learnt so much since starting this media vet my skills have increased dramatically especially within the last few weeks. At the beginning of this semester i was unsure of how to use certain programs and set up media equipment. However since then i now know how to do those things. I never understood how to use final cut pro but since making our trailers and ripping DVD, i now know how to render and create soundtracks using soundtrack pro. The task of creating trailers for the bayside film festival, has helped me drastically as i now know how to edit scenes and add different effects to a film or trailer which was something i was not sure of previously.

Today i finished ripping the Vet Acting screen clip to DVD i learnt how to render, export and import i also learnt how to add sound effects to the Looking For Alibrandi clip by making the soundtrack on soundtrack pro.  I started on my Bayside Film festival trailer and learnt how to make my own music from scrap in soundtrack pro i created an upbeat track that was simple yet still catchy it went for 30 seconds.
